First two days of ice, in photos

After a chilly night spent at a rest area in Vermont, we're finally in New Hampshire.  Here's a quick pictorial look at our trip thus far:

Somewhere in New Hampshire, yesterday morning.

A view of Mount Washington from the west.
Home for the next couple weeks
Smiling?  It can't be that cold.

Rappelling in the dark after the first day of climbing.
A bit chilly last night at the end of the day.
A little skepticism about today's agenda.

Happy to hug the anchor tree at the end of the climb.
Dinner in the making.
Rotel and bean burritos (salad style) for dinner.  Eat your heart out Chris Latham.

  1. Wow, you are one tough cookie! Those pictures look like my worst nightmare. The cold would make me miserable. You must have some good gear! Have fun!

  2. I am with hiker mom, you are tough. I hate the cold and prefer a nice beach with a cabana boy!
